Quick Marketing Tips For Photographers #1

Sometimes, all you need to jumpstart your marketing is a simple, quick tip. So in this weekly series – exclusive to GoingPro – I’ll offer a bit of advice for photographers who just need a little spark to their marketing. Check for more marketing info by searching our MARKETING Category.

Marketing Quick Tip #1

There are only three ways to increase business. 1. Increase sales 2. Increase the size of your sales 3. Increase the number of times your existing clients buy.

If you can figure out how to increase any one of these – you can make more money. If you can figure out a way to cumulatively increase all three areas – you can increase your income dramatically.

Marketing is a great big task. Try breaking it down into these three smaller areas.

Marketing Quick Tip #2

If you’re trying to reach prospects via blogging or other social media outlets, make sure that you approach it from the perspective of your client. Develop content that truly solves their problems (not yours.) Make sure your blog/social media content is timely, relevant and helpful. Be generous and they will come.

Marketing Quick Tip #3

Author Dane Sanders has a simple message – YOU are not your photography. Remember that if you’re going to be successful, you need to realize what you are selling. You’re not selling prints. You’re selling the experience and the relationship, not just the print. Selling widgets is for the second place company, whose only option to gain market share is to compete on price.
