That's the point - it did NOT show up - ever - at all - as a reason that people selected their photographer. It's meaningless. EVERY photographer says they are an award winner. It's like Fox News saying it's "fair and balanced." If you're fair and balanced or an award winner or the best of the best you don't say it with words. Have you ever had a truly spectacularly beautiful woman come up to you and say By the way I'm beautiful? It's easy to get pedantic here but the broad point that Skip is making is that the awards list don't establish credibility with the customer - maybe your peers care - but the clients don't know what PPA is or what WPPI is or care. They want their memories protected and they want to know WHY you do not what you do. At least in my decades of experience in any event. If you have a different experience you'll have to go with that I guess.

Interesting to know. My point is less about the need to list awards than it is to establish credibility. How did that show up in the focus group data?

Wesley I hear what you're saying but Skip & I have been involved with organizations that did extensive focus group testing and we can't find even ONE case where in focus group testing someone hired a photographer because they won an award.
